While watching TV this morning, amidst the gloom and doom of UK citizens wasting food and the imminent Great Depression/Recession of 2008 - a glimmer of hope and wisdom appeared on the screen. An economist gave us the cure for our present recessions - he said “the recession will remain consistent until 2010 unless there is a rise in consumer confidence“.

So is it right to say that the cure for a recession or depresssion is simply changing our minds from good old poverty based thinking to living with a wealth conscious mentality? I think we may have something here. My question to the learned gentleman would be “why does it take so long for people to change their minds?”
